This is our fourth vintage of Orange Cuvée and with it, we continue to refine our goal of crafting an exciting, fruit-forward, and subtly textured pét-nat. For the 2024 vintage, we’ve adjusted the blend to feature a smaller percentage of Muscat Ottonel, allowing the Pinot Gris to take a more dominant role. This change brings a new depth and balance to the wine while maintaining its signature complexity. As with previous vintages, the time on the skins is just enough to impart savory, bitter notes, reminiscent of Italian Amari like Campari or Aperol, but without any harsh tannic astringency.
The noteworthy color of this year's Orange Cuvée is a result of all four varieties receiving a full seven days of skin contact with daily punchdowns. As far as we know, this mesmerizing color doesn’t have a name but lands somewhere between pink and orange, like a blazing Walla Walla sunset after a hot July day. It’s as aromatic as ever, and smells like orange soda, pink mentos, and fresh spearmint. The palate offers tiny, creamy, bubbles—lots of them—and a floral element reminiscent of lemongrass. She’s alive and well and quite exotic! This could very well be our favorite vintage of OC to date.
