This vintage of the White on White has great acid and a little lower alcohol than previous vintages. Still a blend of Marsanne, Roussanne and Grenache Blanc, as we have seen in the previous few years but this vintage is Marsanne dominant, which is new for us. I like this blend because it has a bit more floral and honeyed notes and is less fruit forward in the ripe pear department, which is what we see when there is a little more Roussanne in the blend. In my opinion this is one of the best blends in the last several years and really shows off the quality of the fruit coming from Conley Vineyard.
A quintessential summertime sipper, the refreshing 2022 White on White begins with hints of Chamomile and brioche, and gives way to bright fruit notes of quince, mandarin oranges, apricot, and meyer lemon, with a lingering taste of warm honey and beeswax that give it a satisfying finish.
