2022 Chardonnay, Arete

For the first time in six years, we’ve crafted a Chardonnay outside of Conley Vineyard, and the Arete Vineyard bottling highlights the variety’s brighter, more delicate side. With vivid acidity and lively energy, it is approachable and vibrant, offering pure fruit character without heaviness. A shorter élevage and gentle oak influence preserve its crispness, making it a perfect counterpoint to the more powerful Conley Vineyard Chardonnay. This wine is all about freshness, balance, and easy enjoyment.

Pale lemon in the glass, the 2022 Arete Vineyard Chardonnay is a bright, refreshing addition to the table with impressive versatility. The nose is delicate, while the palate offers tangy, high-toned flavors of green apple Jolly Rancher, lightly salted cantaloupe, and green tomato. Mouthwatering acidity lends energy and lift, making this an ideal aperitif. It pairs beautifully with prosciutto and melon—but drizzle it in evoo and add a pinch of flaky salt.
