100% Grenache
Conley Vineyard
Columbia Valley AVA
Conley Vineyard's high elevation growing conditions (~1600 feet) yield berries with thicker skins that produce intensely flavored wines. The soil consists of dense rock and sand, and has a shallow hard pan with not much top soil; this combination yields mineral-driven wines. In addition to grapes, Conley is home to a substantial organic apple orchard.
Marionberries, black plums, and sprigs of fresh lavender grace the nose of this juicy Grenache, our first ever release of this beloved variety. White pepper, green olive, and caperberries add subtler elements of savoriness to its smooth and juicy profile. It’s perfectly medium in all the right ways; not too big, not too light, not too tannic nor acidic—simply well-rounded and versatile, a “drink anywhere” type red. We’d think it’d do well alongside a flavor-packed umami bomb; may we suggest a gigantic bowl of steaming tonkotsu ramen on a rainy fall evening.
