2023 Cabernet Franc

This Cabernet Franc begins at Hedges Vineyard on Red Mountain, where warm growing conditions and the Hedges family’s commitment to organic and biodynamic farming make this a site we return to year after year. The warmth allows us to harvest relatively early with ripe flavors and structure while preserving freshness.

 

The wine spent 23 months aging in a combination of new French oak and neutral oak vessels before being bottled unfined and unfiltered, with minimal added sulfur. 

 

Aromas of watermelon candy and fruit leather mingle with tamarind, balsamic, white pepper, and a hint of chili. A savory, crushed-rock character adds depth, while pronounced tannins give the finish its firm structure. Serve it alongside ratatouille, whose roasted vegetables and herbs complement the wine’s savory side.
